I bet you didn’t know Sean Connery was offered the role of Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy or that Will Smith was offered the role of Neo in the Matrix. Well, I just read an article on CNN that gave a break down of five movies that would of been completely different had the original choice for lead actor actually taken the role.

I think it’d be hard to judge how some of the roles would of culminated had a different lead taken the role, but to only imagine. Here’s the breakdown:

Cary Grant as James Bond in “Dr. No”
Will Smith as Neo in “The Matrix”
Michael Madsen as Vincent Vega in “Pulp Fiction”
Sean Connery as Gandalf in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
