“Blood Diamond”, directed by Edward Zwick, centers around the search for a stone so rare, men will do anything to possess it. Starring Jennifer Connelly and Leonardo DiCaprio, “Blood Diamond” has some excellent actors on board. When paired up with an excellent director, such as Zwick, it should be a recipe for a great movie. “Blood Diamond” is due out for theaters this December. Lets keep our fingers crossed that Leo has two good movies this year, the first being “Blood Diamond” and the second being “The Departed”.

I’m really looking forward to watching Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Connelly act side by side in this action/drama. I think they’re both excellent actors that will complement each other perfectly.

Speaking of Jennifer Connelly, I’ve been on a kick of watching her movies recently. Just the other night I watched the Jim Henson film “Labyrinth” which she starred in when she was 16. Much to my surprise, it was an enjoyable movie. “Labyrinth” also stars David Bowie as Jareth the Goblin King. It doesn’t get any better watching David Bowie dance around in tights singing as the Goblin King. If you haven’t seen “Labyrinth”, give it a chance, you may like it.

I thought this looked excellent when I saw it. Still not sure if it’s better than “The Last King of Scottland” and yes, I realize that they take on different subject but still, but I think the Oscar buzz may be well deserved. I wonder if this will mean another Oscar nod for DiCaprio…

I can only hope. Leo is a fantastic actor who doesn’t get as much credit as he deserves. His performances in “The Beach” and “Gangs of New York” are perfect and I think he has a lot of good movies left in him.
