ComingSoon recently published an article stating that the Cruise/Wagner Productions contract was soon to expire with Paramount and discussions were underway on whether or not renew the contract. Ultimately, the consensus was to not renew the contract because of Cruise’s off-screen behavior. Apparently his conduct had not been acceptable to Paramount and thus was reason enough to not renew his production companies contract.

Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner will now self finance their own movies and are in the process of finding a distribution company.

Honestly, how stupid is Paramount? How many “bad” movies as Tom Cruise starred in? Other than Eyes Wide Shut, I really can’t think of too many. I mean sure they had to pay him ass loads of money for each film he starred in, but give me a break it’s Tom Cruise. I don’t care if he jumps around on Oprah’s couch, marries Katie Holmes, or even believes in Scientology, it’s Tom Cruise and his movies are big.

I personally don’t care if Tom Cruise acts crazy for the rest of his life as long as he keeps acting well and puts out good movies.

Now that the only person backing his movies financially is himself, I’m sure he’ll get to take home an even bigger piece of the pie. Cruise is a good actor and he’s here to stay, period.
