George A. Romero Still On The Horror Flick Kick

He started us out with Night of the Living Dead, and that was in 1968. Well, George A. Romero is at it again. Cinema Fusion reports on his latest movie in the horror genre Diary of the Dead. Yes, Romero is still sticking with the “Dead” title and hopefully this one will turn out better than his last film “Land of the Dead”.

Honestly, I can’t believe he hasn’t branched off into another genre yet. 38 years and he’s still going strong. However, I don’t know if he’ll be able to stick with the name Diary of the Dead. A movie with that same name, directed by Arvin Brown, came out in 1980. I’m not sure what the copyright restrictions are or if the copyright laws are strict on movies having the same title even when the movies have nothing in common, but Diary of the Dead sure flows well with the names of all his other horror movies.

Even though Romero’s movies aren’t spectacular, I do have to give him credit for sticking with what he likes. It’s obvious he loves directing horror movies and even if his movies don’t receive the best reviews, he’s going to continue making them.
