Jason Statham’s new action movie Crank hits theaters this Friday. The whole premise behind Crank is Chev Chelios (Statham) is injected with the Beijing Cocktail, a lethal drug that cuts off his adrenaline supply. In other words, in order to survive, he has to keep pushing himself further and harder keeping his adrenaline levels up.

Statham has already proven himself as one of this generations great action movie actors following in the footsteps of Schwarzenegger and Stallone. Don’t misunderstand me and think I’m comparing him to Arnold, because I think Arnold holds a special place in all our hearts. His movies are some of the greatest action movies of all time. He has some of the best lines ever spoken on screen and will be a great action icon for years and years to come. What I am saying though, is that Statham, like Arnold, also delivers entertaining action movies. Not only that, but he’s also slated to star in many more to come.

Not only does Crank have Statham playing the lead role, Amy Smart was casted to play the love interest. I don’t think she’s the hottest girl in the world, but they sure made her look damn good in Crank. You may remember her from the movies Starsky & Hutch and The Butterfly Effect. While neither of those were excellent films, she played her roles. We’ll just have to wait and see what she brings to the table during Crank.

Overall I’m definitely excited to see Crank this Friday. Judging from the trailer, Crank seems to set a fast pace early on and keeps the adrenaline pumping the whole way through.
