Original Content? I think not.
You know what really grinds my gears? The fact that 95% of all the movie blogs on the internet consist of the exact same content. Are that many people that unoriginal? I frequent MANY blogs, and I always run across the exact same stories. Whether it be Michael Bay directing 2012: the War of the Souls, Emma Watson quitting Harry Potter, or the new Fantastic Four movie posters, all the news stories are the same. We don’t need to read the same story a dozen times. Granted, I do post the stories I find most interesting, but by no means do I post something for the sake of posting.
What happens is, a specific blog/news source breaks a story. Soon that story is spread across other blogs and before your know it, that story is posted across every mainstream blog the internet has to offer. Not only that, but most of the time it’s hard to find where the story originated from. Who actually did their digging and found out information everyone else wanted to know? In most cases, I couldn’t give you an answer. Why? Because a lot of sites don’t post links to where they found the story. In my case, I read it and often wonder if the story is true or not? What’s the best way to find out if something is true or not? Go to the source.
Anyway, I’m not saying is that the sites linked to above are bad blogs. They are actually some of my favorites and they link to their sources, but that still doesn’t mean they don’t feature duplicate content. I don’t understand why people post things just to post them. Isn’t that leaning away from the point of a blog? Here are a few examples of blog posts that I love to see:
Obviously, there are many other excellent and entertaining posts out there, but I can’t post them all.
Just remember to write what you love and source your sources.

I have the same struggle. I love to read movie news but I only tend to post about stuff that interests me and hence the TMNT post.
Thanks for the link toe the death scenes post. I managed to miss that one.
