Ratatouille

Last weekend, I went out with my girlfriend and saw “Ratatouille” at one of the newly built Marcus Theaters, the Majestic. Although I thought the gaudy, over-the-top, money pit, that is the Majestic was nothing worth writing about, “Ratatouille” on the other hand is quite the contrary.

“Ratatouille” is Pixar’s newest animated masterpiece. Remember those guys that brought us movies like “The Incredibles”, “Toy Story”, and “Finding Nemo”? Yeah, they’re back and this time, better than ever.

“Ratatouille” is a story of a young rat named Remy who strives to be different from the rest of his rat pack. Bored by the same everyday drudgery, Remy begins to horde food and cook it by any means necessary.

After an unfortunate turn of events, Remy gets separated from the rest of his family and sets off to begin a new life as a cook in a what used to be 5 star restaurant.

Ratatouille is filled with great character development, astonishing animation, and a ton of humor which will keep you laughing till the credits roll.

Overall, I definitely have to say Ratatouille is one of my favorite Pixar movies to date. It stands right up there next to The Incredibles. It easily trumps all the “should of been” movies of the summer such as Spider-Man 3, Pirates 3, and Shrek 3 and gives Pixar another masterpiece to add to their already extensive list.

If you haven’t seen it yet, go see it. If you have, see it again.

Agreed this is well worth the money, much more than most of the other stuff we’ve seen so far this year.

I honestly can’t believe all the crap I’ve seen this summer. I still have to write a review for Transformers, which I’ve seen three times already, but that will have to wait until I get back from California.
